A Natural Way to Camp
Camping Lagos de Somiedo (2nd Category) is located in the heart of a glacial valley, whose basin houses the largest lake in the Cantabrian Mountains.
Thirty years ago, we pioneered rural tourism in Asturias, standing out for our practice of natural camping. Instead of delimited pitches, we offer our guests the freedom to choose their spot within over 6000 square meters of meadows crossed by a river that make up our land.
This philosophy of free camping allows for a more harmonious integration with the environment of the Biosphere Reserve and the Natural Park of the Lagos de Somiedo, promoting a family-friendly atmosphere of relaxation and a deep respect for nature. Our tradition, privileged location, and practice of natural camping enable us to offer our visitors a unique experience in complete harmony with the natural beauty of Asturias and the exceptional surroundings of Somiedo.
Starting point for the most interesting routes in the Somiedo Natural Park
Motorhomes, Campers, and Vans
We have a specially equipped area for vans, campers, and motorhomes, equipped with all the necessary amenities to make your stay comfortable and safe.
Outside of the season, and weather permitting, we offer overnight service (availability upon request).
As this is a mountain campsite, the characteristics of the access road limit the passage of vehicles to the following maximum sizes:
- Length: 7 meters.
- Width: 2.30 meters.
Glamping Los Cabanos
We have two Glamping cabins, side by side, which are simply great for families. One cabin is perfect for couples, while the other is a fun and safe place for children.

Pets
At Camping Los Lagos de Somiedo, we are pleased to welcome pets in both the camping areas and apartments. However, it is important that both owners and pets comply with the laws and regulations established both nationally and by the Principality of Asturias. Only one pet per reservation is allowed.

Somiedo, nature and ethnography
To speak of Somiedo is to talk about a place that still preserves the charm of the wild. It's no coincidence that it's home to the largest population of brown bears on the peninsula. This species could be considered a biological indicator as it reflects the conservation status of the area. Despite the impact of human activity, with deforestation to make space for pastures, we can still find forests, rivers, and lakes in almost pristine condition.
The owners of Camping Lagos de Somiedo, always faithful to their slogan "a natural way of camping", are pioneers in rural tourism. They invite you to discover how the people of Somiedo and the "vaqueiros de alzada" lived until the early decades of the last century, with accommodations in traditional "teito" cabins.

How to get to Camping Lagos de Somiedo by Car
From Oviedo, take the highway towards Grado-La Espina and then follow the A-227 to Pola de Somiedo. Alternatively, you can exit at Trubia, continue towards Teverga, and then follow the Puerto de San Lorenzo route to Somiedo.
From the center of the peninsula, take the AP-66 and exit at Villablino, continue towards Piedrafita de Babia, and then head towards the Puerto de Somiedo, descending to Pola de Somiedo.
